ViaCity Essentials Workshop
This online basics workshop gives small teams and narrow-scope connectivity projects a running start. Get a preliminary analysis based on your GIS data, and gain a thorough understanding of how ViaCity applies to one specific project.
- Online 4 hour session
- Includes preliminary analysis of 1 custom case using your GIS data, plus discussion of analysis results and techniques
- Led by a ViaCity Solutions Specialist and professional transportation planner or engineer
- A customizable topic framework will use your projects and data to cover introductory concepts, best practices, and advanced techniques. Your topics may include:
- Introduction to connectivity analysis, RDI, and basic ViaCity features using small-area examples
- Starting a ViaCity project from scratch – data requirements and preparation
- Using baseline RDI scores to show relative connectivity and identify hot spots for improvements
- Discussion of results and techniques in your relevant example case such as transit access, bike and pedestrian routes, street planning, emergency planning, routes to school, or other project
Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with ESRI GIS software. Workshops require setup discussion of case study project goals, onsite facilities, and online tools, plus transfer of project data to Transpo for preparing preliminary analysis and workshop materials. Data may include parcel and centerline data, scans, estimates, and other additional information.
